Victoria Adoption Reunion Registry

Adopted.com is proud to offer a country-wide Adoption Reunion Registry for Australia where you can meet by mutual consent whether you've accessed your adoption records or not. From Perth to Brisbane and everywhere in between, if both parties want to meet then you can find each other on Adopted.com! In Victoria, adult adoptees (18 and over) are able to obtain access to identifying information including their original birth certificate, court and agency records. Those wishing to obtain access to information must also participate in a mandatory interview, which can take place in person or over the phone in the case that the adoptee lives overseas. As of July 1, 2013, birth parents are also able to obtain identifying information regarding the adopted child.

3. Just_indulge70 : I was born in Geelong, given up at birth. I was adopted from the Bethany Babies Home by my now deceased parents, who at that time lived in Morwell. My adoptive parents were told that they could not have children on their own. In the babies home I apparently had a broken toe?? I am asthmatic (but high functioning) and would like to track down my birth family for medical history etc. I was also told by my adoptive mother that I may have also had an older sister?? - but really not sure if this was just a story she was told. The adoption was done through the catholic church and was a closed adoption, so I have no names to even start the search.

4. Sharne : You were possibly born at Oakleigh or Burwood Hospital ( suburb east of Melbourne) around 1959/60. You were adopted at birth. Sorry I can’t be more specific. I had always thought the above information related to my own birth, but eventually found out it related to a baby born a couple of years after me. I don’t know how to pursue this but it would be sad to know that someone out there is looking for their past and can’t find it. I have DNA on Ancestry and Gedmatch.
