A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within South Dakota Who Chose To Be Featured
256. Yendork : Birth mother is Diane Rae Paulson / Patterson - Month and Day are not known and only a year range can be guessed based upon my mothers recall.
258. Dsyeaton : We looked for decades for a missing cousin. We found his sibling several years ago via cousinconnect and him this year (2019) via DNA, about two weeks before their birth mother our aunt died.
She was born in 1960 and adopted in FL. He was born in 1958, adopted in CA, and lives in UT.
At our aunt’s funeral, neighbors told us that in her last months, she told them she had children. Three or four children. Neighbors have told us that the aunt (born 1936) became pregnant in high school (1950-1955 if this is true) or at age 17 (1953-1954 if this is true) and was sent to FL to have the baby.
We do not know much: mother’s maiden name, if listed: Anderson, birth state of mother: MA, she was very tall and thin, loved animals and dogs, Danish, German, English ethnicity. We have done DNA on ancestrydna and 23andme.
If this is you....or you think it could be you because part of the story matches...please do DNA testing so that we can see if we match!
And we are unsure why there were said to be: three or four children. Could it have been twins, which run in our family? Or is there another child with a different birth year and possible different birth and adoption state? These birth years are only guesses...it conceivably could have been any time after her birth in 1936 as maybe a teen (1949 or before?) to menopause (maybe before 1986?) but most likely in the 1950s or 1960s. Do any of these guesses for you or someone you know? We are a dozen cousins looking for decades!
261. Talldonna1 : My name is Donna Krietlow. I am searching for my nephew (my husband’s sisters child) that was born on September 7, 1971 in either Sioux Valley Hospital or McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD and was given up for adoption thru Lutheran Social Services.
262. MegNicole : Born in Watertown South Dakota, adopted in Wichita Kansas. Birth mothers first name is Beth, adopted parents names are MaryEllen Schaeffer and Dirk Schaeffer.
264. Spitfire9806 : St. Luke’s hospital. Aberdeen‚ South Dakota. Mothers name Tina Dunker father is David Moffenbier. Child named Heather Marie Dunker.
268. Talonleroy : What we know: My father was born in Rapid City in 1940. We found and confirmed that his birth mother was living in the Vermillion area and going through a divorce when my father was born and put up for adoption. Half siblings are aware of the adoption but don’t have enough information to find birth father. Birth mother and subsequent living relatives were found through DNA.
What we are trying to find out: attorney that handled divorce or adoption, someone called Fritz and then who birth father is.
269. AdoptedTwinsinSD : Hi, I am one of a set of twin girls born and adopted out in 1971 in SD. We both would like to find our birth mother, Ellen Rohleder. She named us Tammy and Tonya time we were with her. We want to know our biological family history, let her know that we appreciate her trying to keep us and the difficult choice she made when she choose adoption and if possible meet her and any extended family.
270. NicoleDillon : Hi, I am looking for my niece and Nephew. My name Is Tiffany Huff, I am 21 years old. My niece and Nephew were taken out of my older sisters care when they were about 6 & 7 I’m not very sure about the ages I know I was in like maybe first grade? I know they have the last name Braswell I’m not 100% sure that’s how you spell it. Their brith names are Dreama & Jacob Shores. They were adopted in South Carolina I’m not really sure where. Dreama is about a year older than me and then Jacob and I are the same age. If anyone can help me find them that would be amazing thank you so much.
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
