226. Davidwardlow44 : I was born in Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington at the Pierce County Hospital at 8:15AM on Saturday, October 14, 1944 delivered by C W Biedel MD. I have been adopted by the stepfather who raised me so I would have a legal name and be able to enter the US Military. I never suspected that I was not the biological son of my stepfather, Paul Jr Wardlow, until volunteered for the draft during the Viet Nam war. My recruiter, not the people who raised me, informed me it was necessary to be adopted in order to make the name I grew up with legal. So I was adopted by my stepfather in 1963-1964 in Sioux Falls SD. I petitioned the court in Minnehaha County SD to open those sealed adoption records and I have received a copy of my file, however, no records regarding a family study, no notes regarding the birth father or notice to him or in the papers, not even a mention of his name other than a surname: TUMBLIN. This year I requested from State of Washington Dept of Health Center for Health Statistics in Olympia and received a copy of the original birth certificate. The copy is poor, it shows "father of child: CHARLES L TUMBLIN 25 yrs old of San Franciso CA, address unknown." My biological mother took to her final resting place the information regarding circumstances of my conception and birth, and if my father ever knew about me. She listed her maiden name WILMA DORIS FALLON (legal name) 19 yr old from Ramona, South Dakota, living in the community 6 weeks. She signed the document as WILMA DORIS TUMBLIN (I have not found that she was ever married to or divorced from Charles L Tumblin). She named me David Allen Tumblin. She listed her residence at Rt #13, Box 987, Tacoma, Washington. As part of my search to find my dad, I have taken two DNA tests and am submitting a third at this time (DNA-Y test). I would very much like to find my biological father and/or his family for medical reasons and pedigree questions. Any help out there would be very much appreciated. Sincerely, David Allen Wardlow, Sr.
227. MachelleHale : I’m doing this search to try and find my moms son. I believe he was born in Mitchell SD. Or Yankton. I’m not positive of that. The birth name of this man was Rusty Koenig.. my mother was 16 when she had her son and put him up for adoption.
228. Sshowers89 : I am searching for my step-mothers birth parents or family. She was born June 8th 1955 in Waterloo Iowa. She was adopted by Wilbur and May Olson. Please contact me if this sounds familiar.
229. WhitneyFamily : Searching for a sister born in Dyersburg, TN to single mother. Mothers maiden name, Whitney. My sibling was born between 1962 and 1965.
230. Bcapp918 : My husband and I are looking for his birth family. The only information that we have at this point is that he was born as Christopher Dale Portwood on December 9,1968 in Sturgis, S.D. Any information would be extremely helpful!
233. ElkSr : My grandma placed her first son up for adoption. We are curious if he is wanting to know about her. She is in the beginning of dementia. She gave birth in Aberdeen SD
234. Arideout : Mothers name is Crystal Rideout.
Likely the adoption(s) took place in the midwest/southeastern U.S..
We would be half siblings. I’m the oldest (1997).
237. Smpertuit : I can’t recall if my mother gave birth in Aberdeen, South Dakota or in Bismark, North Dakota. I do know that the brother I am looking for was adopted essentially on the day he was born. I know he was named William by my mom but I’m not certain if his name had been changed after adoption or not. This all happened roughly 20 years ago.
240. Missyousweetie : Your name I gave you was Holly Lynn Brawn. That was your name before you were adopted. I gave you up for adoption in Concord, NC in 2016. You were born October 2, 2015 at CMC Northeast in NC.
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
