My cousin was born November 27‚ 1956 at the Women's Pavillon in Winnipeg and was given the name at birth of Clare June Martin. Adoption took place in Portage La Prairie ‚ Mb at the Children's Aid.
Her birth mother was from Glascow‚ Scotland and emigrated to Canada in about 1955. She also was a widow with a 7 year old son at the time of Clare's birth.

He was born when I was 20 years old‚ at St. Boniface Hospital in Manitoba. He was born on March 11th 1970. I named him Jeff Drew at birth. Jeff’s father was Craig Carter‚ born in 1949‚ in Toronto‚ Ontario. My son was adopted by parents born Father 1943‚ Mother 1945. He was named John Joseph Oswald Yvon.
This information was included on my son’s birth certificate.
All I know about his adoptive parents is that one was a teacher and the other in the trades. They were in their 20’s and had been married for four years. Both had a high school education. I attached a lucky silver dollar for him to his papers at the Children Aid society.
The adoption was arranged through my doctor in Winnipeg‚ DrR G Mitchell. Mitchell-Windsor Park Medical Centre but I was with the Children’s Aid Society of Eastern Manitoba 123-B Marion St‚ St Boniface my Social Worker was Miss Merrily Frayne.
I am posting this in hopes of finding my son or anyone who may have information.
