She was sent to Winnipeg‚ MB‚ to the Salvation Army’s Home for Unmarried Mothers‚ likely Bethany Home. She was forced to give her child up for adoption. Mother’s name: Eileen Deborah Millar (later married name: Cooke) Father’s name: Walter James/ Jim Cook (he later added ’E’) Our father (Ojibwe/ Cree) but I don’t know yet if he’s listed on the adoption record. A family member just recently told me of this child and of our mother’s wish to find the child before her death which unfortunately‚ she was unable to do.
