The father of the baby was named Bob (presumably Robert). He likely lived near East Selkirk or Seven Sisters Falls, Manitoba, which is also where Betty was from.
Bob joined the navy, but before he left, stopped in at the home to say goodbye. He brought his friend, Paul Jardine, who later married Betty after he was discharged from the Navy. They married in Winnipeg then later moved to Edmonton.
