300. Sweetchickers : I was born on August 24,1963 at the Grace hospital or the old Civiv hospital in Halifax Nova Scotia. I was put up at birth for adoption and was taken home with my new parents when I was about 6 weeks old. My adopted parents names were Ethel Marion Currie ( maiden name) Horsefield and Thomas Frances Horsefield. The adoption was made final
On my first birthday in 1964 I do not know who my birth parents are or any names. My adoption papers were stolen from me but I do remember a name on them that was Joan Culf. I believe that was my pre adopted name but I can’t be sure. There is really nothing more I know about the adoption except that I always knew I was adopted. I have dark hair and blue eyes and I believe it stated somewhere that I favoured my birth father but I cannot be sure. I am sure that I should be able to get another copy of my adoption records from the hall of records and deeds. Other than the fact that I was told or everyone assumed that my birth parents were teenagers and as at those times in the ‘60s adoptions were always closed unless done within the family and that is not my case.
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
