11. MHRoss : Hello‚ I am searching for my son who I placed for adoption two weeks after his birth‚ October 8‚ 1983. I named him Matthew Thomas and I believe that is still his name. He was born at Grace Maternity Hospital in Halifax. I was staying at the Home of the Guardian Angel on Coburg Road and my son was placed for adoption through the home. He stayed in the nursery there for approximately 2 weeks which was the waiting period required after birth before the adoption could be completed. Sr. Rose McNeil was the counselor who worked with me to find the parents that adopted my son. She was the resident counselor at the home. Matthew also has an adopted sister named Erin. The family moved to Ontario some years after he was born but I am not sure exactly when that happened. Matthew wrote to me when he was 12 but that is the only time I have heard directly from him. His father had a public profile in his work but I do not know his occupation. My name is Mary Hodder Ross now and Hodder is my maiden name which was the case when I was at Grace Maternity and the HGA. Please contact me with any information you have or find. I would also be grateful for any further advice or direction you have to offer. Kind regards‚ Mary
