A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within New Mexico Who Chose To Be Featured
361. AAllensworth_21 : Hello I am the daughter of an adopted male who is believed to be 1/2 Hispanic and 1/2 Navajo. We never knew his birth family and have no clue how to contact them‚ he was moved to Oklahoma quickly after birth and lived here ever since. He was adopted from Hobbs New Mexico according to his birth certificate but was registered as a white male. My grandmothers name is Alice she is the one who adopted him. Any information or possible information about him and his birth family would be greatly appreciated.
362. Ldmej : I was born Evelyn Johnston on August 5, 1952 in Armijo, NM which is an area now part of Southwest Albuquerque.. Mother’s name listed as Ida Johnston. Delivered by A Doctor Clayton. 3 siblings. Adopted at about 13 or 14 months old I believe.
In the early to mid 70’s, found an address for a Clayton Johnston in a 1950’s Albuquerque phone book in the area that had been called Armijo. I drove to the address. There was a "For Sale" sign out front. I called the realtor. Clayton was in a hospital in Albuquerque. His wife who I believe was named Ida, had gone to stay in Arizona or Utah it seems with one of 3 sons. The other 2 sons lived elsewhere. One had the name Clay or Clayton. I sent a message to Clayton Johnston through the realtor. He said he knew nothing. I still think it was a bit of a coincidence and not sure I believe it as it was the only Johnston family I could find an address for in 1952 in the Armijo area and they had 3 children. Since Armijo was just a small farming type community in the valley outside Albuquerque in the 1950’s, I find it odd I was delivered by a Dr. Clayton (father?). There is a record of an Ida Estelle and a Clayton S. Johnston marrying in 1931 in Bernalillo County.
Don’t know if this helps since some adoptee and mothers names as well as birth dates in the past were altered so adoptees could not find their parents. I would like to know my nationality and something about my family and my kids would like to know about their family medical history and ancestors on their mother’s side. I would not mind knowing who my brothers and/or sisters are also.
365. Twowheelz : Birth parents, I was born in Eddy County, Carlsbad, NM on March 16, 1967. I was adopted either the day I was born or within 3 days. My biological father was a surveyor and biological mother was a nurse or nursing student I believe.
367. Nitelite : Birth mother’s name is Rita Mae Nye. She was born May 6, 1933. Last known address is in Indiana, but she was a dancer and traveled the US.
368. Bonnieverne : Born 3-30-1944 in Roswell New mexico. I was told my mother lived on a farm an d was married to an army man. My real father flew into the White Sands Base and he flew for the RAF. Got my mother pregant. He flew out and was killed in the war. Adoption papers read the Thompson Baby
371. Cheles : I was secretly born in Fort Sumner, New Mexico on March 29th, 1972 to Helen Silva from Santa Rosa, NM in which I was adopted to a couple in Albuquerque, NM. Helen Silva had sister’s Frances and Tina residing in Santa Rosa as well as brothers, Vincente and Christian Silva out of Santa Rosa. I have half sisters who reside in Los Lunas NM Yvette, Yvonne and Natasha Silva. We all have different fathers. I am looking for my biological father who might have met my biological mother in Santa Rosa or surrounding towns there.
372. Adoptedkid90 : I want to know where I came from. I understand my mother probably went on to get married and have more children and I’d be very pleased to hear that. I don’t want long term contact really. I do want to know where or who I came from and in a way get closure to this hole I’ve carried with me. It’s hard for both sides I know this unanswered questions, thoughts, being different from your family because your like someone else. It’s a rough journey but if possible to opportunity to just say hi and see what the person who had the strength to place me up for adoption is like. I wonder if she wonders if I’m ok? I want to tell her I am. Most importantly that she made a tough decision that turned out to the right decision and everything’s okay.
373. Blair1 : He was lived in lake wales Florida when he was born. His birth name was James Edward Sapp. He had a half sister named Reagan. He was around 5 or 6 when he was adopted. His mothers name was Nikomi Adams. His fathers name is James Sapp Jr.
374. KatBeall : I know that the birth mother was in a home for unwed mothers in Albuquerque. She had a baby with blonde hair & blue eyes on approx 4/9/1959. Her name was Lois Graham Beall, not sure what name was listed as fathers: could be Beall or Barnes. I am the adoptee’s biological sister and am searching on behalf of the birth mother. If you are curious about where you came from or need only medical family history I’m happy to fill in the blanks without expectations from you. I hope you had an amazing childhood & a better life. If not let’s talk anyway.
