A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within New Mexico Who Chose To Be Featured
181. MARYANNBRADSHAW : I was about 13 when I found out my parents adopted a sibling out. A couple from Hobbs, New Mexico adopted my sibling. This child was actually born in Lovington, New Mexico. My fathers name is Raymond Elgin Bradshaw and my mom is Mary Mozzell [Butler] Bradshaw. The only names I heard about the couple that adopted my sibling was Jim Bo or Jim Bob and wife supposedly Nancy. Jim could have really been James. Just not really sure and don’t know their last name at all. Don’t know if my sibling was ever told about being adopted. Still searching though. My parents never forgave themselves for adopting this child out. The reason that he/she was adopted is because my dad had fallen off a tank or floor in the oil-field and broke his back. At the time, there was five of us children. We actually lived in Midland, Texas at the time. My father was in the hospital there in Midland and there was some women that worked in the hospital that talked my mom into adopting this child out and the people that adopted my sibling would pay the hospital bill since my dad was bedridden and couldn’t work. How my mom found the people in Hobbs is a mystery to me but I feel she went out of state to keep it confidential. My dad told me that the Jim worked for Halliburton in Eunice, New Mexico near Hobbs. And supposedly this couple didn’t have any other children. He/she was suppose to have been born May 15th, 1961. Not sure the 15th is right but 1961 is the correct year. I was 5 at the time. I have wanted to find our sibling just to let him/her let them know they were never forgotten and I will keep on looking as long as I am here. Still hoping and praying this sibling is looking for us, too
182. Stephaniew48 : My birth Mother was born September 25,1948, she was 15 years old when I was born. My birth Father was about 27 years old, he was about 6’ tall, light brown hair, light brown eyes. I was born in Albuquerque, NM, Bernalillo county. I was adopted at 6 months. My birth Mother’s father was self- employed.
185. Hollyp1225 : Birth was in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Was told that birth mother was married and had a affair, ended up pregnant and could not keep the baby. Birth was at a clinic across street from hospital. Was a closed records adoption. Lawyer who handled adoption had office burn down.
186. Kristen20 : Hi. My name is Kristen Schmidt... My father Michael Schmidt was adopted in Grants New Mexico on Jan 5,1962... 189. Audiomuchacho : Suzanne Whitmore was my mother. I’m looking for my biological father. My aunts and uncles think his name is Michael. She got pregnant in 1974 while attending fashion design school in Dallas. For reasons unknown to me, she left school and my biological father and had me in Los Alamos 1975. She died in 1997. I just want to know where I came from.
