346. MARYANNBRADSHAW : Trying to find my adopted sibling. My Father, Raymond Elgin Bradshaw and my Mother, Mary Mozzell [Butler] Bradshaw, adopted a sibling to a couple in Hobbs, New Mexico in 1961. This sibling was born in Lovington, New Mexico even though the couple lived in Hobbs at the time. Not sure why he/she was born in Lovington, unless to keep it more confidential at the time. The couple were suppose to be in their late 30’s and his name was suppose to be Jim Bob or Jim Bo, and the wife’s name was Nancy or Nancey. I was told that Jim worked for Halliburton at that time and was suppose to have worked for them for about 16 years at the time of the adoption. I also think Halliburton was located in Eunice, New Mexico at that time but not for sure. I know it is located in Hobbs, New Mexico now. The reason my sibling was adopted is because we lived in Midland, Texas at this time 1961, and my Dad had fallen off a rig floor and broken his back. I know he was kept in Midland Hospital for a long time and two women that worked there talked my Mom into adopting this child out to whomever for the hospital bill. My Dad and Mom never forgave themselves for making this decision but there were already five of us children and no funds coming in. My Dad and Mom are deceased now as well as Four brothers. I have been looking for this sibling since I found out about him/her when I was 13 with no luck. The Birth Records are sealed in New Mexico and can only be opened for medical reasons I believe but have to have a lawyer I think to get them opened. There is CANCER, COPD, and CONGENTAL HEART DESEASE in our family that I would like to warn this sibling of but have no other way of finding him/her. This is why I am going through GLOBAL ADOPTION SEARCH. Don’t know if this child knows that it is even adopted but on this site just in case he/she is searching also... I am the oldest sibling and I want him/her to know may be ADOPTED BUT NOT FORGOTTEN. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so very much. Mary Ann Bradshaw Bramleu

My mother has a twin brother and possible older sister. Both my mother and her twin brother were also adopted when they were two years of age. My father has two sisters and possibly 3 brothers, one of which was, or still is in the Air Force. My father farmed and also joined the Air Force in 1976 or 1977.
My mother enjoyed playing the piano and my father enjoyed wrestling and working on cars. My parents relinquished custody of me on January 3, 1977.
