301. Susan62 : I’m searching for a sibling. I have very little information.
He was born in NewYork, (April 1946.
Brought to Vermont placed in St Joes Orphanage in (May 1946.
In (June of 1948 he was placed in foster home.
He was adopted in 1949 to a Vermont Farmer.
He possibly is still alive age 75.
302. Trishthedish1 : my sibling was adopted in vermont his name at birth was dawson Thompson born in 1997 in gardener, mass and was adopted by a doctor and his wife he had a heart condition
304. Wngdhgs22 : My sister was Born at Rutland Regional Medical Center on August 31, 1979 to a Mary Marchinkowski. She was adopted on September 2, 1979.
306. GinaMurrayGiroux : I am searching for my brother. My mother was forced to put him up for adoption as her father would not allow her back into the family home with the baby. All her life she has "looked into the eyes" of men that would be his age feeling she would be able to tell if she found her son. She now has COPD and emphysema and I so badly want to give her peace before her time comes. To this day she cries whenever we talk about "Michael". That was the name she gave him‚ I’m not sure what his name is now. I would also very much like to find and get to know my brother. Please‚ please‚ please reach out if you can help. Thank you.
307. KristieDeRosia : My mother passed away without knowing her biological parents. She never really knew any details other than the woman that officaly adopted her was her aunt. Names we know are Lorraine Harvey and DeRosia. I would love to know more details. Thank you!
309. U263934 : My father was born Sept. 28, 1950 in Austin, TX. He was white and his parents were white. There was the name of Albert Alsenz listed as his father but I think that might not be true. I am almost positive the mother was Alice Marie Lane Alsenz. Albert was born in 1911 in Brooklyn, NY and Alice in 1927 in Shandaken, NY. Both parents stated they had other children from other relationships either already adopted out or in foster care waiting for papers to be signed so they can be adopted. The only indication of where these children are is the mother said she had a child in foster care ’up east’ with the parents wanting to adopt the child which may have been a boy. The Alsenz’s lived in Austin, TX in 1950-1952 and in Kansas in 1956. The Kansas census has a Donald and a Jack Alsenz listed as being with them. I don’t think these were Alice’s children. I think they were the children of Albert and a Ruth Kniffen Alsenz Hartman Olsen now buried in New Orleans, and they were visiting with Albert and Alice, with Ruth being the person in charge of them. Let me know of any info, please, by sending a message.
310. ElizabethFortier : Olin Benjamin Fortier and his siblings (Oscar‚ Lois‚ and Marie) were placed in an orphanage in Burlington‚ VT sometime between 1910 and 1915. His mother was Mary Allen Savoy and his father was Frank Fortier (aka Frank Firkey‚ Francois Fortier). His mother remarried Don Leo Beardsley and had one son‚ and it’s possible she was still married to Frank at the time. The story is that she left Frank with the kids. It’s very possible they were left at St. Joseph’s Orphanage in Burlington‚ VT. There is no record of them in the Home for Destitute Children.
311. Tabby099 : Looking for brother that was born at st edward mercy medical center september 25‚1976 8 lbs 2 ounces at 10:21am. The adoption may have been finalized in another state. I have looked everywhere. Very closed adoption cannot get any information.
312. Jdecormier : I was born in Springfield Vermont on February 9th‚ 1975. I was adopted at approximately two weeks old from the Vermont Children’s Aid Society. My Birth mother at the time of my birth was almost 18‚ 5’5 tall‚ with blonde hair and blue eyes‚ and of Irish heritage. She was the youngest of four girls. My birth mothers mother had died of cancer when she was 3 years old‚ and her father was working in a management position in a factory at the time of my adoption. My birth mother dropped out of high school in the 10th grade because of family problems‚ and supported herself after that. Around the time of my birth she had received a scholarship to return to complete high school.
My birth father was 18 with blonde hair and enjoyed music and athletics. He was the youngest of four siblings (2 older sisters and an older brother). At the time of my adoption his father worked in a machine tool factory‚ and his mother was an RN at a local hospital (she once had a brain hemorrhage). At the age of four my birth father was diagnosed with cancer‚ and had a kidney and part of his liver removed. My birth parents were together at the time of my birth (made the decision together). "Both visited‚ took pictures‚ and said their goodbyes to Jennifer before she was discharged (February 20th) from the hospital. Vermont Children’s Aid Society has not heard from the birth parents since."
