Olin Benjamin Fortier and his siblings (Oscar‚ Lois‚ and Marie) were placed in an orphanage in Burlington‚ VT sometime between 1910 and 1915. His mother was Mary Allen Savoy and his father was Frank Fortier (aka Frank Firkey‚ Francois Fortier). His mother remarried Don Leo Beardsley and had one son‚ and it’s possible she was still married to Frank at the time. The story is that she left Frank with the kids. It’s very possible they were left at St. Joseph’s Orphanage in Burlington‚ VT. There is no record of them in the Home for Destitute Children.
