He was the eldest illegitimate child of Arthur Cunningham the Elder and Brenda Ann Ford, who already had two young sons with her estranged first husband. Arthur the Younger was adopted as a baby, following which his parents had four more children before they split up in the ‘60s.

We were placed in a mother and baby unit in for 6 weeks then we were separated and I was put in a children’s home Woking. I was taken for adoption in the April and formally adopted in August of 1968. My records state that my father is James Hadlow Boardman of Farnham common. I am desperate to find out who I am and where am from as I am so different to the adopted family and never been part of it.

My sister was last known to live in the area surrounding Alton Towers with one of my brothers last known to live somewhere on Windmill Avenue in Kettering in the 1990’s. She went to The Home of The Good Shepherd in Haslemere, Surrey from her home in Cheshire the address which is on my birth certificate. She gave birth to me in St Luke’s Hospital, Guildford, Surrey on January 9th 1953. I was adopted at 11 weeks by Horace and Kathleen Madgwick from Haslemere where I grew up. I had a wonderful home life with 3 brothers and a sister. I’ve always wondered about many things about my adoption, the unanswered questions and im sure my birth mother has wondered how I got on.
