888. Traceyannb : I do not know the birth date of my sibling or the county. I filled in a date because it would not let me move on without it.
The county is where we had family connections in the past.
895. Hayleyann1430 : I am searching on behalf of my grandad William John Dickinson who sadly passed away in 2018. It was only after his death that myself and my dad discovered that he had been adopted at birth by my great grandparents (whom we had believed to be biological until now).
This topic had been kept very private and secretive and it was something my grandad never wished to discuss or divulge information about. I was told by my auntie that he had found out he was adopted shortly before he was due to get married to my grandmother‚ however he never desired to investigate his biological parents or attempt any contact with them.
As his granddaughter I have often been curious and had unanswered questions around his adoption since finding out this information but little is known by family and my grandad had suffered with vascular dementia for many years before his death in 2018 so it was unclear what memories or information he had or would have been accurate.
Although my grandad had what I believe to be a happy childhood with wonderful adoptive parents and wasn’t interested in finding out otherwise‚ I would like to find more out on the subject to bring closure and also to further enhance my genealogy findings in building my family tree and finding out more about my heritage and the reasons for his adoption at that time. I’m hoping that anyone with associated search criteria will come forward and we can gain more clarity and connection together.
