706. AngelJoanne : My name is Barbara Carney nee Kenna. My birth daughter, who I named Angela Joanne Kenna, was born to me in Blackburn hospital and after the delivery I returned to The Grange, Wilpshire, Blackburn, Lancashire, Mother and baby home for un-married mothers.
This home was run by the Church of England children’s society?
I stayed there until early January 1969 when I recall that I felt forced to sign permission for my child to be adopted and for me to leave and return to my parents home.
I have tried in the past to locate Angela "the name I gave to her" but have always found it difficult to follow my search through.
I now have 3 grown children with my long term husband of 49 years and they all support me with my decision to find out if my birth daughter has lived a happy life and we are all agreed that contact would be amazing but only with her total consent we also are blessed with 4 grandchildren.
I have carried out some research over the years so I have her Birth certificate, I have had contact with Jenny Setterington at the children’s society though this was in 2006. I am now more determined than ever before to primarily find out if Angela is fine, well and had a good life.
