301. Diane1807 : My birth mother’s name was Maureen White. She was 16 yrs old at the time. I was born in Liverpool Maternity Hospital L8 on Saturday 16 Jan 1965.
My biological father’s name was omitted from my birth certificate.
However‚ my mother told me‚ when I was 17‚ that he was of Irish/Italian origin (her boyfriend‚ when she was 15).
I know that my name was changed (to Payne‚ Brian Leonard Payne listed as father) via an adoption in May 1966.
I know nothing else and I find this a difficult topic to approach with my mother‚ as when she told me (in 1982) that I was adopted‚ she was tearful. However‚ she has since told me that he was a friend of the family (White)‚ but didn’t know his name‚ and that he was older.
I have wondered‚ since.
I hope you are able to help‚ though I am aware this may not be possible.
This is a matter I consider to be private and I believe my biological father is unaware of my existence. He was informed by authorities in late 1964 to stay away from my mother‚ due to my mother’s age. Tricky circumstances back then.
Kind regards‚
Diane (now Diane Jordan).
