694. Daisy2016 : Born in Swansea hospital. Birth name Caroline Docherty. Birth mother Christine Docherty. Birth father unknown. My mother and her family lived in Glasgow. My mother had polio as a child which left her disabled and walking with two sticks. She drive a very distinctive blue disabled car. She is believed to have moved down south in her early 20s but no idea where. She was very poor so would have had a very basic life. Sad as vivid reached out before I could have helped her make a better life. My grandmother was Margaret known as Maggie and it is believed she died in 2000. At the time of her death she lived in sheltered accommodation. My grandfather Frank is believed to have died a few years before in the late 1990s. They had an older child also called Frank and a younger child Freddie who died as a young teenager following a football injury with a stud in the leg. A later infection and leg amputation. Some time later he died‚ it is believed‚ as a result of an ongoing infection. Uncle Frank moved about 20 minutes away from Glasgow and I have been unable to find out if he is alive but there was an entry of a death of a person with the same name in the same area within the last 10 years. The closest I’ve come to finding my birth mothers family is my mother’s best friend’s sister who had been very helpful and shared some lovely stories about how lovely my family were.

I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
