He was my mums boyfriend but they split up before he would have known that she was pregnant.
My mum moved away to London and lived in Notting Hill until after my birth when she returned to Cardiff.

445. 94961 : Ashley John Butler was born in Swansea‚ Wales. His birth cert records his mother as Rose Mary Butler. Rose Mary lived in Dublin‚ Ireland. No name was given for his father. However‚ family oral memory says Paddy (Patrick) Mason (from Ballinteer‚ Co. Dublin) was the father. The Mason and Butler families knew each other well at the time. My understanding is that Ashley tried to make contact with Paddy’s siblings in Ballinteer sometime in the 1960s or 1970s. There has been no contact since.

I was born Elizabeth Ann Jones in Pontypridd Glamorgan 1946 The only facts i have of my father he was born approx 1913 ? and in 1945/46 was in the Army in Yeovil Somerset it states he was a cook in the Officers mess. My mother stated his name was P ? could be Pat, or Paul or Peter Bannister The document i have the writing is dreadful. Please can you help i have been searching for over 40 years . It is logical that he is no longer with us but perhaps there are relatives . I was told by my birth mother ( only meet once) due to upsetting my new family that he was married with 5 chlldren i really dont know if this is true.
