FranchescaQuinn : hello my name is Franchesca‚ my grandmother was adopted in 1941 in Hackney London by a lovely couple called Herbert and Gertrude. my grandmothers birth name was Hazel LePage‚ but was then changed to Annetta Bancroft due to the adoption. my grandmother never told anything to us and sadly she has passed‚ and just in turn her adoptive mother never said much either. you can imagine the shock when we found out. we as a family would just like to finish off the puzzle and complete the family tree. we are not looking for a massive reunion‚ although if individuals did wish to meet‚ that would be great! we are a very curious family and love a good mystery to also to solve. if there is any information out there ‚ no matter how small‚ it will be greatly appreicated.

566. LadyJulia : Searching for the man that could be my dad. My mother gave birth to me in Manchester in 1958. She was only 16 and I was put up for adoption. She lived in the Bolton/Farnworth area. I was conceived July-September 1957. My mother’s name was Ann Kinnaird Jones‚ she originated from Scotland and she was born in 1941. The man named on my Birth Certificate is not my father (DNA test done). The name William Smith is quite prevalent in my DNA so that narrows it down to about 10 million LOL. Any help would be much appreciated. Love Julia PS the photo is of my Mum taken in the early/mid 1960s

567. JULES1938 : There are twin boys born in Manchester on 28 October 1965. John and David Dearden‚ 5 years before I was born in 1970. After my mother’s death‚ we found two birth certificates in her belongings. It would have made her about 27 years old having twins. I have questioned relatives if they knew anything but in the 1960s you could go months without seeing relatives. My maternal grandmother was a midwife. These could have belonged to her work. But she was a tyrant and my mother used to move around training racing horses to get away from her. She had an affair with a married man in the 60s. When she lived in North Wales it makes sense that the boys were born in Manchester. After her divorce from my dad‚ she reverted back to her full maiden name. In the 60s as I did in the 80s you could call yourself anything you wanted. The mother called herself Dearden and as a maiden name which means they were born out of wedlock‚ the twin boys may not even know they are a twin. I found two short birth certificates with first and last names. no middle name. My and my brother’s middle names are personal‚ and had meaning. The trail goes cold after finding the records of their birth‚ nothing after that which means they had their names changed‚ there are no death records‚ if they died at birth.

568. Louise64 : I was adopted by a couple who shortly moved to Liverpool after my adoption and then when I was ten we moved to Australia. I believe my birth mother called me Laura.
