421. Mjc2024 : I took an Ancestry.com DNA test and discovered that someone named Gail shares 25% DNA with me‚ on my mother’s side. This would make her either my half sister or my aunt. If Gail is my mother’s child‚ here is some background on the likely window of time in which this could have happened...
My mother‚ Eileen Rankin‚ born August 31st‚ 1920 in Tisdale‚ Saskatchewan‚ trained as an RN at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg‚ Manitoba from 1942-1945. Prior to that she worked in Winnipeg as a hotel chambermaid in order to earn her tuition. Following her graduation she worked at a TB Sanitorium in Ninette‚ Manitoba then she filled in as a Public Health Nurse in Morden‚ Manitoba. In 1948 she attended UBC and earned her PHN degree after which she was posted to Revelstoke‚ BC.
424. Krsteelman : I’m in search of my dad’s biological mom and you came up as a possible match. He was born Oct. 20‚ 1967‚ and from what we’ve been told‚ his biological mom gave birth to him at a home for unwed mothers‚ or at least went there for her pregnancy. We found his biological dad. His name is Ross. He and his biological mom had split up before she found out she was pregnant and he only knew she was pregnant because she had a friend go to him asking for money so she could go to the home for unwed mothers‚ but he never spoke to her directly then or ever again. He said her name was Sandy‚ but couldn’t remember her last name.
426. Suzanne_Cadieux : Regina General Hospital was the place of birth. The family was bilingual (English and French)‚ but besides that‚ I remember very little about the family. They were supposed to keep her first name‚ which was Celeste‚ however‚ I don’t know for sure if that ended up being the case.
428. MelanieDouglas : Hello‚
I was adopted at the age of 5yrs old‚ I will be 51 in May. I was born May 29‚ 1974 in Calgary Alberta‚ however‚ I believe I was adopted in Saskatchewan in Swift Current which is where my last foster home was by Joyce and Sandy Babiak although i may have been adopted under Joyce’s last name at the time which was Kolwich. My biological mother is Lucille Grace Elizabeth Dunham and i just recently found out that the father she told me was my dad is not my bio father. I found my real father alive and well in Alberta through a 23 and me test and he did not know i existed. The father I was told was my dad was Raymond Anderson‚ however‚ she was with Lloyd Cowley possibly at the same time. Ron Pepin is my real father and he did not know i existed. I just recently found out some news regarding Uranium City which is where i was taken to as this is where my adopted parents lived at the time. I really need to see the adoption records from that time if possible. Any information regarding this adoption would be greatly appreciated as I have been searching for a long time.
429. Babybrown1925 : My grandmother Beatrice Gustafson was adopted in Regina in 2025. She was born May 27‚ 2025. We believe she was born in an Orphanage in Qu’Appelle‚ Saskatchewan and taken to a place on Cameron Street in Regina‚ a home for babies‚ for adoption. The adoption papers were signed in Regina‚ Saskatchewan. Her name at birth was either baby Robinson or baby Brown. Her adopted parents last name was Dodge.
430. DeanMLorenz : Birthdate is believed to be April 17‚ 1967
Baby was born Kevin Maurice Soll in Regina‚ Saskatchewan‚ at the Regina General Hospital.
Mother was then Beverley Ann Soll. She is now Beverley Lorenz with two sons Dean (1970) and Shane (1974). Dean lived in 4 provinces but is now back “home” in Regina and has recently been told about Kevin‚ his half brother who was given up for adoption when his mother was young and unmarried in 1967.
432. MattWalker : I am a white male looking for birth parent information. I was born September 13th‚ 1974 in Regina. In foster care for ‚three months before being adopted. 9/13/1974
433. JoceMackenzie : Possible mother Josephine Mckenzie or Grandmother Alice Martha Mckenzie. Known residence in Saskatchewan. Alice was born in Halifax‚ NS.
