174. Bedde65 : I am searching for my natural mothers natural parents and or family members. She was born in Regina Sask. However not sure if adoption happened there or in Ontario where she grew up & still lives. My name is Tammy Bedder my moms surname name at time of adoption was Andfield/Antflick. My grandparents Sol and Gertrude Andfield/Antflick adopted my mom named her Ruth Sharon Lynn she was born on January 15th 1946.
I’ve reason to believe she was born with surname Handleman. As well further reason to believe her natural fathers first name was Abraham surname Handleman of Rosetown Saskatchewan he was one of my grandmothers Gertrude 2 brothers (ironically alwaus being led to believe she was an only child Then I found her obituary which indicates she had 2 brothers. Abraham & Harry. Abraham had 3 daughters one was Colleen.
This was a private closed record Jewish adoption. I believe My Uncle Abe may have actually been my natural grandfather (Zadie). With good reason I believe he had an extramarital affair with a young woman in Saskatchewan which resulted in a forbidden pregnancy. To hide it from his wife‚ reached out to his sister my adopted grandmother & brother in law my adopted grandfather in Ontario. knowing his sister wanted but could not bare children & were refused by agency’s to give them a baby.
However what goes in the dirty laundry will have to at some point come out in the clean rinse. I was told the final adoption took place within a year of her birth but was also told it happened within a few years of birth. My Bubbie Gertrude passed away in June 62 when Ruth was 16-17 years old & my Zadie Sol passed in January 1968 I never knew my Bubbie & barely remember my zadie) Anyways they were unable to conceive & made arrangements to save face.lthe girl Abe got pregnant gave the baby girl at birth (my mother) through a private closed hush hush manor adoption to who became my mothers parents & my grandparents. It’s a stretch I know. I also know that it falls into place with info I have collected..Also know that Abraham had daughters 1 named Colleen. My mother took me to the airport to meet her when I was young she said we were going to.see her cousin. If my grandmother had no siblings how is it my mother could have a cousin ? I’m looking for anyone with info regarding this search would be greatly appreciated if you could contact me.
I want to know my roots which my mother figure says she knows but chooses not to share. Sadly I believe nothing that comes out of her mouth. She gave me life & that is it. She thanks me for "EVACUATING HER UTERUS" !Apparently in her eyes that’s the only thing I ever did right Not to mention that she told me this as I was leaving the cemetery from laying my dad to rest.
I’d think having lost her mother at the age of 16 would have been traumatic. So I don’t understand how she could be so cold to me‚ her only daughter ! I also have 2 brothers. Which she treated very well.
I have a son hopefully grandchildren one day. Knowing medical pasts would be helpful. To find I have real family would be better. Anyone who can help I thank in advance.

Please note as years pass less chances are possible. Yesterday 1/15/22 my mother turned 76. I will turn 57 in October.
We have not spoken in 21 years since March 2001 at my dad’s funeral. We’ve had sporadic talks & saw each other maybe 5 times in 10-30 years prior.
Praying someone will see this & reach out before I have no chance of ever connecting with any natural maternal side of my family !

On 01/07/23 My mother passed away 8 days before her 77th birthday.
I will be 58 this year. I have done a lot more resesrch since she died & believe more that Abraham.was her actual dad. I learned he passed away in the 1990’s. Was a Doctor & had 3 daughters. 1 Colleen who.had 2 children now. I have a contact email for her & ask.gkjng to see if & what she knows. If all else fails I will do a DNA test & run it through Ancestry to see where that leads me.
