I have struggled for many many years with attachment issues and I have had a few counselling sessions regarding this. It always leads back to my adoption. I am not unhappy with the choice my birth mum had to make however I am curious to why and maybe to find out more about her. I have my own daughter now and the comments I get of “ wow you are like twins “ or “ she is your double “ it is making me wonder more and more if I look my her. She may not want to know anything about me and I will completely respect her decision. I am just a 36 year old women in need of some closure.

I am not wanting to force my way into a family or create disturbance my primary reason for attempting some contact is to tell my birth mother that I have been well brought up by loving parents and I have no qualms about being adopted‚ or bear any ill-feeling towards my natural mother. I don't want her to be sad or worried that I was placed for adoption. I hope she was able to get on with her life.
