271. Cath8681 : My Biological mother was Irene Smith. George Wright is on my birth certificate but this was my mother’s husband, not my father, they married in 1949. I contacted George when searching for my mother in the late 1980s, she had died. He told me I had two half brothers Ken (1949) and Denis (1950), his biological children. I was the result of an affair. He said I may have other full siblings, but didn’t give me any more information. When George passed away I was contacted by Ken who said there was at least one other child. We lost touch but I always wondered. I did some research on Ancestry - there were three possible siblings born in the Darlington Area, County Durham listed as Wright with mother Smith: Kathleen M Wright b.1951, Christine Wright 1957, Derek E Right 1957. I was born Jean Wright 1955. My name was changed by my parents and I’m Susan Jean I’d be interested in getting in touch, I’ve tried in the past but always drawn a blank.

280. Kenmitchell : My birth mother’s name was Vera Florence Smith, born 1925. She named me Kenneth Ian Smith on my original birth certificate, born 28th August 1946 at Westow, North Yorkshire (Buckrose). My biological father’s name is unknown, Vera not being married at that time. She later married in 1947 and assumed surname Fisher. I had been adopted (privately) shortly after birth and became Kenneth John Mitchell. Vera’s husband (Fisher) is unaware of my existence, as are any other members of that family. I am seeking to find my biological father’s name plus any other information.

283. MaiMhambo : Birth father Colin HORSFIELD [DNA verified] - served British Army 27+ years from c1959 in various postings including overseas & latterly in Special Forces. BUT eventually based in / retired to Preston Lancashire. Has known legitimate children and his wife believes him have 5+ illegitimate children, some adopted [like myself] and some not [like my DNA identified half sibling] - so there are at least 3 others ’out there’. The online form only allows a limited range of years but quite simply these children could be born into the 1980s. So very general and not very helpful overview.
