The 1911 Census shows Charles Allen at age 8 as a visitor to Louis Bengeyfield of 26 Morgan Road‚ Bromley‚ Kent so we assume his adoption took place after 1911 but before 1919 when he enlisted in the Royal Tank Corp aged 17. He has a previous regiment of 13th Hussars but little has been found of this. I am looking to find out about what happened to his mother and father and why he was adopted.
