395. Keri1972 : Paul Nicholas Mogridge was born in Barnstaple to my unmarried mother‚ as such‚ she was made to give him up for adoption when he was just six weeks old. I know he was relocated to‚ and brought up in‚ Exeter‚ Devon. His adopted name is Mark. He made contact with my mother when I was 18 years old‚ so about 1990/1991. At the time‚ he had a daughter‚ aged about 2/3 years old‚ who I think was called Chantelle‚ or Charlotte.
396. Esmesmith12345 : Having just recently “lost” my adopted mother‚ I feel able to research my birth mother. I hadn’t felt it appropriate to do this beforehand‚ whilst my adoptive parents were alive‚ as by undertaking this could have been upsetting for them and they could not have been better parents to me.
I do know that my mother was 21 years old when she had me and her name was then Angela Stray. I was born in Plymouth. Angela named me Lindsey Anne Stray. Her decision to have me adopted was a difficult one for her‚ she had a boyfriend called Nigel at the time (not my father) and I understand they were intending to marry. I believe my biological father is/was Irish‚ however he was not around during Angela’s pregnancy
She decided it would not be fair on Nigel to keep me and the best option was for me to be adopted and for her to start a fresh chapter with Nigel. This I quite understand and am grateful for everything she did for me. Until I was placed with my adoptive parents‚ I understand I was with foster parents and she actually visited me there on occasion‚ so I know she did care about me and did not make the decision lightly.
