I was always told I was only 4 days old (very unusual) when I was adopted and my parents told me they chose not to know anything about my birth mother-their choice. I have two grown up wonderful children who I want to share their roots with too. They both know I’m adopted but have always excepted my parents as their true grandparents. Years of being asked medical history and parents history have saddened me at times as no child/adult wants to say I don’t know anything at all. My adopted parents are Mr Stanley Brooks and Mrs Christina Brooks and my birth certificate says born in Mansfield-sub district Sutton-In-Ashfield. It is dated 8th November 1966

221. OlgaMay : The baby was born in Nottingham. Mixed ethnic background (black/white). The year is either 1978 or 1979. The mother stated that she put fathers name on the birth certificate (Garfield Green). The mother told the father after birth that she was not allowed to put her own name on the certificate due to abuse, results of racism. However the father has not had contact with the mother since. I am unsure regarding two questions - indicate the birth date of the adopted person and birth month. I have still answered them even though unsure, as did not have other option. It is my dad who is the father, so the baby is my sibling. My father is also is trying to find his son with me.
