A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within Hawaii Who Chose To Be Featured
256. Malia2794 : I was told after my Mom passed away and a few days before her funeral in May 2018Work that the Man that raised me was not my biological Father. I was born at Queen’s Medical Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. My Mom was Velma DeCambra. She married Alfred Cordeiro in July 1961. My Birth Certificate has an August 1961 date the Hospital signed my Birth Certificate. I don’t have a name since my Mom passed away. I took a DNA 23 and me in August 2019. I hope I can find my biological Father and learn if I have siblings on my Father Side.
257. Babygirlritter : I was born in Honolulu Hawaii in May of 1946 after my mother Uva Lois Ritter from Sacramento, CA and my father Allan Storch of Brooklyn, NY conceived me and wanted to keep it a secret from thier families. My mother, Lois Ritter married James Hay from Hawaii right after my adoption but I have not been able to find her though I’ve searched for over 20 years along with my daughter who paid a private investigator at the time to find them. She claimed my father was found in NY but wanted nothing to do with me. He comes from a well known Jewish/Russian family and was born around 1922. I believe he graduated from James Madison High school in Brooklyn, NY in 1940 and went on to college then joined the Navy as a Lieutenant where he met my biological mom in or around 1945 in Honolulu HI. My mother worked as a clerk on the Army post. From Mormon death records, she died on January 31st 2001. Cant find any information at all other than this on either parent. Wondering if I have 1/2 siblings? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
258. ErenaMFaumuina : I was born in Kapiolani Hospital in Honolulu Hawaii‚ and the doctor was doctor Eli‚ who established the adoption. My adoption parents are Elizabeth and George Hall. The names of my birth parents are Solomon Wong and Cathrine Dorothy Houghton. They both worked at the Tavern Lounge on Kapahulu ave. Mr. Solomon was taking business courses at University of Manoa. He established a gas station business in Waipahu‚ was divorced‚ and had two young sons from his first marriage. Catherine Dorothy Houghton was originally from England‚ from a family of eleven children‚ and decided to move to the United States of America. Which then lead her to move and establish residency in Honolulu Hawaii. Catherine Dorothy Houghton has grayish and greenish eyes and reddish hair. She is of petite stature and established a relationship with Mr. Solomon Wong out of wedlock .
259. Piilani : I am looking for my niece. She was born in 1994 at war memorial hospital in Kahului Maui, Hawaii. Her birth Mothers name is Bonnie May Ishimoto and her birth fathers (My Brother) name is Joston “Hoku” Militante. Her parents were teens at the time of her birth and I was was only 10 yeas old. I remember hearing the phone ring a few times early one morning and I answered it. It was my brother’s then Girlfriend asking to speak to my mom. I remember going to the hospital that day and seeing this beautiful baby girl through a glass window. I was so excited to be an aunt. I remember my parents taking my brother home to take a shower and to pick up some things before heading back to the hospital. They return home a few hours later saying that they were band from the hospital and that the baby was put up for adoption without my brother knowing. It was such a rough time for our family. My brother went through a lot and I’m sure his then girlfriend did as well. My parents went to court but nothing could be done. A few months later my brother Bonnie started dating again and we were told not to mention the baby. I was told that we would just have to wait until she turned 18. I thought of her everyday for years. I tried to find her a few times but I don’t have much information about the adoption. Her name was supposed to me Tisha-Lei Kahokumakanani Militante-Ishimoto. Till this day my brother doesn’t like talking about the situation and Bonnie messaged my older sister asking to tell me to stop look for Tisha-Lei. Over the years during the holidays and Tisha-Leis Birthday Bonnie would travel to Oregon so people said that the baby was adopted by one of her family members and she went to visit the baby. I hope to one day meet my niece and let her know that she was loved before birth and my family always wanted her. I never want her to think that she was given away so freely. Our side of the family never knew that you were going to be put up for adoption. You are always in my mind and heart!
260. Ogagtagonow : I am looking for a baby girl that my mom, Geraldine Ilima Chew gave birth to possible in 1960-1964. She was probably born at Kapiolani Children’s Hospital or Queen’s Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. The baby was taken soon after birth and my grand uncle Joseph was involved with the adoption. The baby girl would be of Hawaiian, Chinese, Spanish nationality.
263. Libbyyannne : Hello! My name is Elizabeth and I was born in the Marshall Islands. I was raised in Texas and am a music education major Texas A&M University- Commerce!
264. ComlyWhite2019 : My father was taken away and adopted back in 1942. For many years he knew very little about his biological family. He knew his father’s last name was White and he was taken away from his mother, because his biological father was never home or supporting him and his siblings.
In the late 90’s his biological niece found him and showed us some of the family including her father which was adopted as well. As well as his mother Nellie E. Poush White, his half siblings, Beverly, Bill, and Jerry and his biological father Denver Thomas White.
When I had the opportunity to talk to Denver, I asked him how many aunts and uncles I have. His answer was he was a truck driver that drove from coast o coast and he had a warm bed and cuddle buddy at every stop.
So I am looking for my biological family that are the children or grandchildren of Denver Thomas White.
If that names sounds like someone you know please, please contact me!
265. Jmmsdustin : I am searching for my first cousin. She is the daughter of my aunt. She would have been born in the Indiana/Illinois/Ohio or Tennessee area in April/May 1959. My aunt was 18 when she gave her up at birth. She may have stayed with a family tied to the Methodist Church. Her family would really like to connect with this child. My aunts name is Pegge Lakins and the father’s name is David Culp. Please contact me if you can help provide clues or have any information that may help. I have included a picture of her mom/my aunt.
266. Searchingforrobin : My sister was born around Thanksgiving of 1969 at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu Hawaii. She was placed for adoption through Catholic Services as our mom was 16 years old.
I’ve tried various avenues to find my sister - specifically the DNA websites and reaching out to Catholic Services of Hawaii and at this time haven’t found her. I’ve been told she would have to contact Catholic Services of Hawaii and initiate contact- they can’t disclose to me as they are sealed.
I was told there’s a possibility that her name is Robin (unsure if that was her name given by our mom or the name given by the adopting parents)
I understand if she doesn’t want contact however I’d like to at least give family medical information.
267. Nigel1979 : Looking for brother whose name at birth was Shaun or Shawn. Born to father Mario Johnson while he was in the Army married to your mother name of Thelma

Dunlap they had already adopted son a little older than my mom as well). She is deceased, and her adopted parents have also passed.
