My Uncle passed away in 2013 not long after his wife. He and his wife never had any children and we did not know he had until we found some court papers in his keep. The child was a boy born perhaps in 1944-45. He was named Michael Alan Phillips and was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. L.H Grant of Bolton gardens

She was born out of wedlock to an unknown man and forced to be put up for adoption. Her birth mother was first married in 1942 to a James Reid Paterson who went down with his ship (HMS Dasher) in 1943. She later re-married a William Robert Morphy. She died aged 62 in Rye‚ Sussex‚ England on the 28th June 1982. She never got over being made to give up her daughter.
It’s not known who she had Eileen with but they weren’t allowed to keep her due to not being married. After being given up there has been no clue to whom she went to or even if her name was changed.
