19. Praying2017 : My uncle, Otto Salisbury, was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan in 1950s and we believe he has a daughter by a Japanese woman. The daughter’s name at birth we think was Sherry Candy Salisbury (not sure). The mother went by the American name of Flo or Ruby.
The story that was told is that the mother backed out of sending the daughter to the U.S. and may have put her up for adoption or sent her to an orphanage.
No other information known at this time.

I believe your adopted father’s first name begins with a B and your mother’s with an R. I have a location for you, although I don’t know when, in Montgomery, Alabama.
Your mother’s name was Chiyo Taira and your father was a black serviceman. You also have another half sister, Miyoko, who still lives on Okinawa. She was born in 1944. You are the middle daughter as I was born on Okinawa in 1958. My name is Lillian and I have been living in Switzerland for over 30 years. I have photos of you taken with our mother prior to your adoption.

23. Kitani : I recently discovered the fact that my half American sibling was sent to Elizabeth Saunders Home in Oiso , kanagawa Japan right after she was born in Tokyo Japan in 1955. My mother must have been 1-2
month pregnant when she got married to my Japanese father. When my mother delivered the baby, all the relatives were confused and upset and my half American sibling was taken to the facility. That was 13 years before I was born. Nobody did not talk about this but I just found out the fact through my long gone cousin. I imigrated to California in 2000 and my mother has been living with me since 2009. My mother has dementia and she doesn’t remember anything. I started asking my relatives questions about my siblings but they are elderly and cannot get a lot of information. I would like to find my sibling badly. If she wishes I would like to meet her.
24. Byrus70 : Biological mothers name in 1952 was Michiko Oki - she worked at a US military base in early 50’s. She was later married around 1954 +/- 2 yrs (her married name is unknown). I was born near Kanagawa or Shizuoka prefecture. My Japanese name birth name was Sutemi Oki. I was then adopted by a US Navy miltary family (Hubbards) and came to US in 1954.
26. FusaeKashiwada : I was adopted from the Elizabeth Saunders Home in Oiso, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan in 1960. It was an orphanage founded by Mitsubishi heiress, Mrs. Miki Sawada, in 1948 and dedicated to the care of bi-racial orphans, whose birth parents were American service members and Japanese mothers. Since then it opened up to other orphans. I was born in 1956 as Fusae Kashiwada at Oaza Kamiyamada, Yamadashi, Fukuoka-Ken, Japan. My family register at the time I was adopted indicates my birth father’s name was Shiro Kashiwada and my birth mother Kiyo Kashiwada. According to a letter and photograph sent by my birth father to my adoptive parents, I had two older brothers who stayed with my father. Nothing is known of my birth mother. In the letter he said how sorry or sad he was to have given me up for adoption. I had always believed that I was given up for adoption because I was a girl, and not having as much value as my brothers, who were kept. I have so many questions as to the circumstances but I also want my birth father, if still alive, that I hold no bitterness, but instead, so very grateful that he gave me a better chance at life than he would have been able to give me.
