340. Paton4caring : Hi‚ my name is Sophia. From what I know is that we lived in Grassy park in Cape Town. I was too young to know what was happening at the time but from what I’ve heard‚ my mom walked out on us and my dad couldn’t cope so my second oldest brother Willie Vollenhoven who passed away several years ago took us myself and my other two brothers to the nearest police station and he gave them my aunts number and address my fathers sister. So they took us to my aunts place who is also deceased now. I grew up in Lentegeur with my aunt and her family. I don’t know any of my moms family only my dads side and they never met her family as far as I know.
342. Evangelique : My birth mothers name was Lucretia Amelia Meyer born +- 1941. She was 27 when I was born.. The agency was Magdelena Huis. MY BAME AT BIRTH WAS magda Meyer.I would live to just see a photo of her and also like to know family history. She was born in Kkein Katoo
343. Loumar91 : My mother had the baby in Port Elizabeth in the then Livingstone Hospital‚ and before that was at the Connie Human home for unwed mothers for 4 and a half months. The baby girl was born on Sunday 2 May 1976 at 19h50 in the evening.
She named the baby Jackie.
The social worker of the Connie Human home was a Mrs. Ritter in 1976. If that will help at all.
She did learn from a social worker at the time that the adoption was done by the CMR Wellington Western Cape.
The little girl was apparently adopted by A-class parents (who were both in education).
I would really appreciate it if you could help and if there is any information about her‚ please send it to us. According to us‚ she must be a mature lady of 48 years old by now.
Best regards and many thanks‚
344. Paton4caring : I only know family members from my fathers side. I grew up with my aunt Mary Adams and her husband John Adams. They both passed away. I had contact with my dad Rodney Henry Vollenhoven (passed) but according to my dad he didn’t know my moms family. Apparently they disowned her. I don’t know how much truth there was in that story because my mom hurt him badly when she left him for someone else. We were 4 children and I was the only girl and the youngest. My two brothers passed on so it is just me and my oldest brother left. Hennyboy Henry Vollenhoven. I am also aware that I have a brother younger than me whom I don’t know. Not from my dad. It would be nice to know her and family from her side. I can’t really give you names because I don’t know any of them. I asked questions growing up but never got any answers. I also got different names every time I asked about her. I was told her name was Angeline‚ Anna and her maiden surname was Jacobs but couldn’t find anything I guess they just made up these name to get me to stop asking questions.
