A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within West Riding of Yorkshire Who Chose To Be Featured
274. Rmiller90 : I am searching for the family of my mother. She was born Anita Gordon to Jack and Betty Gordon in Doncaster England on April 28th, 1954. She was adopted by Bessie and Alan Brown, who emigrated to Canada in 1957.
275. SayHiToJayne : I am looking for my birth fathers who’s name is believed to be Tony Raymond Garcia. He was born‚ around 1956 as my records say he was 19 at the time of my adoption. He may have come from Liverpool and had a sister and a Spanish grandmother. My birth mother was Lorraine Wallace Seed and she was from Newcastle. Her parents Mr and Mrs Henderson‚ had a pub called the Ridley Arms in Newcastle. Lorraine‚ my birth mother said that Tony was seaman‚ an electrician by trade and she said he was in the Royal Navy. I have found no record of him in the Royal Navy so it is possible he could have been in the Merchant Navy or the Royal Marines or even a fisherman. I would love to make contact.
279. Jamiegoddard : I was born in Yorkshire to the mother Debbie shepherd.
I was taken into care around the age 4/5 and I was adopted and moved to Swansea Wales.
I don’t think my sister was ever adopted but placed in Foster care. My sister would now be mid to late 20s.
280. Scoops : I have had confirmation by my uncle that my Dad 100% fathered a child prior to him getting with my Mum. Due to the times back then and the young age of my Dad and the girl involved‚ the child was given up for adoption. I do not know if either of them had any choice in this. I know this girl was a friend of my Mothers prior to my Mother getting with my Dad. My uncle recals the Mothers christian name as Sue - Susan‚ but does not recal the Surname. She may have been living in the Haroldhill or even Pitsea Essex or surounding areas at around the time she fell pregnant‚ or very close by. Due to my Mother and Father getting together in 1965 and my uncles memory of his age at the time we have narrowed it down to 1962 - 1965 when she would have had the baby. We are pretty sure she got sent to an unmarried mother and baby home to have the child. I know its a long shot but have heard of miracles happening in extremely difficult cases‚ and prey one day I will find my sibling and that he or she will give me the chance to meet them and get to know any other family members such as nieces and nephew.
I can’t ask my Mother as ahe has passed. I am desperate how ever to find my long lost sibling.

The father is not documented but I know that he was my father, Desmond Sambrook. I have his birth certificate which says ’adopted’ at the side.
I have three receipts that my father, Desmond Sambrook, signed that were for amounts of money given to the Bradford Diocesan Moral Council for the boys adoption/maintenance.
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
