Adopted.com is proud to offer a country-wide Adoption Reunion Registry for Tasmania where you
can meet by mutual consent whether you've accessed your adoption records or not. From Hobart
to Smithton and everywhere in between, if both parties want to meet then you can find each
other on Adopted.com!
Tasmania law recognizes that adopted persons have the right to know their origins and identity,
and therefore provides for adult adopted persons to have access to their original birth record and
other records associated with the adoption. All Tasmanian residents seeking information are
required to attend an interview with a counsellor before receiving information of any kind.

168. LindaB01 : Suspected Forced adoption (TAS - 1964) - mother told son had died but bizarre and sad circumstances lead me to believe he may well have been alive and adopted.
170. HelenMM : Hi there lovely people‚ I’m helping my adopted sister to try and find out who her biological father was as it’s not recorded on the birth certificate.
One of the interesting things we have learned is that our mother apparently lived in Cressy TAS at the time of the birth. I can’t imagine this to be correct but it’s stated in the adoption order which wasn’t filled out in our Mum’s writing‚ only the signature.
Does anyone who if there was an unmarried mother’s place in Cressy in 1952? My mother never mentioned Cressy‚ the adoption and is now passed. There are no living relatives to ask.
Fingers crossed someone can help in finding out why Mum was in Cressy in July 1952.
171. SisterSearch82 : Birth mother named Christine. She and the birth father were both around 15yrs old and from South Australia. The child could have been born in a different state.

I was adopted when I was around 13yrs old by William Buckley Rossiter.
Any information regarding g my birth father would be appreciated.
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
