A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within Delaware Who Chose To Be Featured
466. Sarah80910 : Wilmington Delaware area hospital. Ancestry.com /chatgpt guidance has suggested Jackie Lee Scott and Irene Irvin were possible parents
A twin sister was also born and adopted out to the same family
467. JessicaAkre98 : My name is Jessica Akre‚ and I am searching for my birth parents to possibly have a conversation or even a relationship if they desire. I am also looking for my genetic/medical history‚ as my adoption was closed‚ and I am worried about my health‚ and I am looking to start a family within the next couple of years.
I was born in Newark‚ DE‚ at Christiana Hospital. August 9th‚ 1998. My adoptive parents used Adoptions from the Heart agency. My adoptive mother's name is Jill Akre‚ and my adoptive father's name is David Akre from NJ.
I have been told my birth mother kept the pregnancy hidden until the time of labor. I was also told that her name is Jennifer‚ that she had blonde hair at the time‚ blue eyes‚ and that she was 24 years old at the time of my birth. I know that my birth mother's father requested a photo of me when I was a baby‚ which my adoptive parents granted‚ but they heard nothing after. I know nothing of my birth father's side‚ only that he is of Mexican-American ethnicity based on Ancestry DNA testing.
468. Christie98 : I found out about my brother from a letter that I got from my father couple days before he died he wrote the letter. I got it 3 days after he died. I just want to know my father son and to tell him about our dad he deserves to know the kindest and huge heart he had.
470. Zeran : I was born in Wilmington hospital in Wilmington‚ DE on May‚ 2nd 1982. My mother father and their respective parents were all in agreement that adoption was the best thing. I was born with a different name than what my adopted parents gave me. My family name is Hahn.
472. KhalilD : Hi my name is Khalil Davis I am trying to find my little brother his name was Jamil Taheem Clement he was born in Winston Salem‚ NC on January 18th 2006 I think they might have changed his name when he was took from my mother and put in to the system around that time he was about 3 or 4 and they was staying in Wilmington Delaware
474. Blossomingjen : Yesterday‚ I went to do a few things in Delaware to have birth certificates apostilled.
First‚ they use a slightly different certificate for that where‚ if you subsequently changed your name‚ they cross out the adopted name and type your legal name above it....it looks like a typed school paper from the 80s...has anyone else had this done? I'm afraid it will raise questions abroad as I pursue visa options.
Secondly‚ after being told by Delaware's Child Services that they have no records of my time in its foster care system and adoption‚ and that its Health and Human Services (which apparently was the agency that oversaw adoptions in the 1970s) has no records‚ I submitted requests to the Family Court.
While I have a Delaware Family Court order that was in my records from my time in foster care in Pennsylvania‚ Delaware courts have nothing. Absolutely nothing to explain how my name at birth was changed...yet alone anything else.
If anyone was adopted in Delaware in the 1970s and early 1980s -
Do you know the name of the adoption agency?
I was told by an aunt the one that did mine closed.
