A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within East Riding of Yorkshire Who Chose To Be Featured
151. NeilA : The relative I am looking for was registered as Ruth Hilary Aldus. She may have been "unofficially" adopted by being given away to the father and his wife soon after birth. For this reason it is possible her birth may have been re-registered to purport she was the natural child of the "adoptive" mother as well as the father and given the father’s surname and possibly new forename (s). No father was named on the birth certificate
153. Ruthshimmin : I’ve recently found out that I have an uncle! All I know is that my Nan called him David, her name was Sara Stevens, now Sara Shimmin. He was born on 4/12 1952, and he was born in an unmarried mother’s home in York. My nan is now in her 80s and my mother in her 60s so I really want to help them find "david", and we cant wait to meet him/you 🖤
156. AMSNPS : I am looking for the family of my father’s birth mother [my Grandmother]. He was adopted between the date of his birth in April 1914 and June 12th 1914. There are no adoption records for that time but I understand it was done through the family Doctor. His birth mother was Margaret Prescott, he was born in Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. As far as I am aware he had no contact with his birth mother after his adoption, his father was not named on his birth certificate.
157. AMSNPS : I am looking for the family of my father’s birth mother, he was born in April 1914 in Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England, his birth certificate says she was a nurse [hospital] her name was Margaret Prescott, his father was not named. I don’t know if anyone would have known she had a child or whether she went on to have other children, she must have been born around 1894 give or take 2 or 3 years.
160. Minesweeper : My husband was the birth father. I have no knowledge of birth mother’s name or adoption agency.
We had a son many years later. Our son had DNA testing completed thru 23 and me.
There is a half sibling somewhere who has a half brother and sister. Time to connect and figure out the rest of the pieces.
All the best.

163. Lizzie95 : I’m looking for my maternal grandmother/family as my mum was adopted in 1963 at around 6 months old.
My grandmothers maiden name is: Patricia Ann Nunn. We know she was around 17 years old at time.
My mum was born in Bridgnorth.
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
