She was given the name Nguyen Thi Thanh. She was adopted by a single American woman on July 23‚ 2002. The woman who reportedly accepted the child for the mother while she went to the restroom gave a falsified name and address. This was validated by the police and the adoption agency before the child was released to the orphanage for adoption.
