A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within Ukraine Who Chose To Be Featured
301. Elenaferriero : My name is Elena. I was born in Mykolaiv‚ Ukraine‚ in 2002.
I was adopted as a child together with my older brother‚ after our mother abandoned us at our father’s house. He didn’t take care of us. I was around 4 years old when I started raising my brother by myself. On January 1st‚ 2008‚ our little sister was born: Muzyka Anastasiia Ihorivna.
She was our greatest joy. Even though life around us was hard and painful‚ I always found happiness when I was with her and my brother.
When our mother came drunk‚ yelled at me‚ punished me‚ or beat me—telling me she didn’t want me—I could still smile again when I returned to the room with them. Before we were separated and sent to different orphanages‚ we spent some time in the hospital. I used to visit the nursery just to see her.
The last time I saw her‚ I ran to her to give her a hug and told her I would come back.
That was the last time I ever saw her.
Later‚ my brother and I were adopted. But Anastasiia wasn’t.
She was only one year old.
After the adoption‚ I immediately asked to see my brother again. But I didn’t ask about her.
That thought haunts me every single day. I should have asked about her.
I know her full name: Muzyka Anastasiia Ihorivna‚ born on January 1st‚ 2008‚ in Mykolaiv‚ Ukraine.
I don’t have other documents‚ but I remember her‚ and I have never forgotten the love I felt for her. I remember the promise I made: I will come back for you.
Now I am searching for her—or for anyone who might know what happened to her.
If anyone has information about a Ukrainian girl with that name‚ please contact me.
I have never forgotten her. I’m still searching.
And I won’t stop.
