46. Tabitha09 : My mother was adopted in 1968 from Honduras. This was unknown to her till the death of both her parents decades apart. We’ve joined 23 and me and Ancestry.com but still don’t really know where to start.
My mother papers had been written in short hand what we know is that she was the youngest of 11 children‚ her parents were turtle farmers and her father was British and Native American‚ her mother Honduran and African. In the orphanage she was in they called her Baby Cindy. Before this my mother had always been told she had been born and adopted in the United States. Searching for answers.
48. Dwolf373737 : Adoption happened in Francisco Morazan‚ Tegucigalpa Honduras. Adoption happened around 1990. I was born October‚ 9th 1985 according to my adoption papers I have. Name used in the documents is Edy Antonio Alvarado Jueves.
49. Omiovalles : My sister’s given name is Marielena‚ was born sometime around 1958-1959 and she was given into adoption sometime around 1959-1960.
As a baby she was very light skinned and had clear eyes (unsure if green or blue). She was about a year old and was sick with polio‚ unable to afford the treatment for Marielena‚ our mother gave her to adoption in hopes of getting help for her.
My sister was born in Colinas Santa Barbara‚ Honduras to Carmela Perdomo Valle.
She was given away in adoption in Tegulcigalpa‚ Honduras.
I have searched for her whereabouts l‚ and found out that the house she was taken to for adoption no longer exists. The only thing I know is that it is said she was to be given to a North American “gringo” couple. But we do not know ultimately if she left the country.
I have my wife‚ kids and grandkids‚ but I know no other family and long to see my sister.
