Contact me.
2. Danoush : We are looking for any information about my brother who got adopted from the orphanage Red Lion in Teheran (i think). His name is Danoush. He got adopted in the same time as a small girl namned Zarin. They were from different familys but got adopted from the same family. We are looking for any information. Siblings‚ parents‚ cousins....
4. PersianPrincess81 : Hello (Dorood),
My name is Beeta Catherine Akhavi. I was born in Tehran/Shemiran, Iran on July 9, 1981, but I have been raised in Texas since I was a month old. When I was baptized Catholic as an adult, I added a Christian middle name and dropped part of my last name, which my family used as a middle name in the U.S. My family name is Sadat Akhavi, so my full name was Beeta Sadat Akhavi. My parents are Parinaz Sadat Akhavi, and Mahmood Sadat Akhavi. My father is a neurologist in Dallas.
My parents are distant cousins (so they have the same last name - Sadat Akhavi). My family is well known and well-respected in Iran. My parents moved to the U.S. in 1971 for opportunities, and my father to finish his residency. I was told they were unable to have children, and while they were in Iran visiting family, my grandfather, Reza Sadat Akhavi, was told by a close friend (a judge), that a baby needed a home. They knew my parents wanted a baby, and excitedly told my parents the good news.
I got my Iranian birth certificate after I was born, so I do not know the accuracy of the information. My parents were told I was 3 days old when the social services office (I am not sure what the place was called - not an orphanage. I can ask my parents to clarify) received me. I don’t have any names or anything left behind by my birth parents/family of origin. I haven’t been back to Iran since 2001, but when my mother/uncle (her brother) went to the place to get information for me, they were told I needed to be there to get information. They were only able to find a lady who worked at social services at the time, who also adopted a girl. The woman and her daughter moved to Canada. I am in the process of trying to find more information. I was told that since I was born during the Iran-Iraq war, that there were many orphaned children.
I have done DNA tests through FamilyTreeDNA and AncestryDNA, and have also entered my results in Mitosearchorg, Gedmatch.com, and MyHeritage.com I will be getting the 23andme test next year, as well as testing with DNA Consultants.
I hope to find my birth family someday. I feel like a part of me is missing. I love the family I grew up with, and I’m grateful that God has blessed me with a good life. I have enough love for both my biological family and the family I grew up with. My heart is open, and my strong faith in God encourages me to keep looking for my lost family, and to be compassionate and loving. God Bless.
5. Mahsa : Ameneh Orphnage in Tehran, Iran. I know my mothers name was Zahra, she was in her early 20s, and I was put for adoption when I was about 3.5-4 years old. I know my birth last name in Farsi was translated to something around the spelling of Hadice.
6. Rye15 : Now heres a Question...Do you know anyone from Tehran or surrounding areas to Tehran in Iran.... Be it an auntie or cousin or grandma or uncle, grandad etc who knew/knows of a young girl/women who was pregnant and for whatever the reasons gave up a beautiful baby girl in 1964? (could have been a year earlier or later.)
You know how things are talked about in families and If you know of someone in your family that has spoken of such events and would long to be connected to their long lost relative please contact me, I maybe your long lost auntie, cousin...daughter though Iam in my mid 50s so the latter is seemingly unlikely😔..I don’t speak.or write Farsi. I would love to meet any of my biological family for no other reason than just to meet...whoever you are.... so iam sending this hope via technology out into the virtual universe .....here it goes...❤
