1. AmethystMonken : My father was adopted from Ireland in 1932 or 1936 and I am trying to obtain a birth certificate to get duel citizenship. I don’t know where he was born.
2. Shana0721 : Searching for Fogartys in Ireland. Was born in st patricks navan rd in 1957. Dont have much to go off of besides my birth name and fogarty
3. Clarkie1234 : I am trying to trace my mother’s birth family. We believe she was rehomed as a baby in roughly 1946/1947. Maybe she was born in a nursing home in Galway?
We think maybe an Ursuline nun from Thurles might have rehomed her with her step parents who eventually adopted her when the adoption law started in 1952.
They were Stanislaus & Mona Keogh from St Adrians, Sutton, Co Dublin.
My mother thinks maybe her original mother might have been from Carlow or Galway perhaps?
5. TEnglish83 : Looking for my father’s half sister. We have little information. She was born to Mary Ryan (b. 1921) in a mother and baby institution in Ireland in the mid 1930s -1940s approximately.
We believe she was adopted by a Doctor and his wife and possibly moved to Scotland?
We also believe that she did contact her mother years ago and met in England. She has also tried to trace her routes in Ireland and unfortunately had the door closed in her face.
We would like to try and make contact. We only found out about her existence 2 years ago. We are based in England.
6. Charlie47 : The sisters of charity had sent a letter saying my cousin wished to make contact but that's all I know I think my cousin was born in wexford
8. Sean1245 : My great granny‚ Kathleen McDonald was born July 12th 1921 in Carlow‚ I’m pretty sure she was adopted within a year of her birth. Her mother’s name was Catherine‚ I’m not sure if McDonald was her biological parents or adoptive parents surname‚ she was married to Patrick Hennessy and had 4 kids‚ but she miscarried many times aswell of had still births so she probably has a lot of medical records. She died November 4th 1921 and was buried in Drumphea Cemetery‚ Drumfea‚ Carlow‚ Republic of Ireland. Please help me find her parents and more info‚ I know they would’ve passed away by now but I can work with that‚ I have a real passion for genealogy and I feel as if something is missing in my life‚ and so does my grandad!
9. AnnaML : My brother was born in Kilkenny hospital. My mother is from Carlow. I’m certain he is close to 33 years old (2024). Our mother was young and he was adopted by an elderly couple who I believe lived in the countryside. The adoption took place immediately after birth He would have been an only child then. Unless then adopted after him. He had big blue eyes. I have known about him all of my life and I want to meet my brother. I want him in my life. I am 2-3 years older than him.
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
