I was born at Subic Bay Naval Hospital in 1976 and put up for adopted in 1977, lived at an orphanage, and adopted approximately six months later in 1978 from Kings Fil Am Home in Olongapo City, Philippines. I now live in California. I have found my birth mother, who is Filipino, in 2001 in Virginia Beach, VA. She was born in the Philippines and now lives in the states. She was married to an American in the Navy at the time of my birth, but he is not my bio father. My mother’s name is Rosalina (Rosie), and she lived in Olongapo City in 1975/1976. I am looking for my birth father, who is African-American and was in the service in the Philippines in 1976. It unclear which branch of the service he was in. She stated that she meet my birth father in Angeles City in 1975 one time, and does not remember his name or any information about him. I have completed my DNA with Ancestry.com and have several close matches (2nd and 3rd cousins) whose ancestors originated from Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina.
