I am trying to find my mother’s biological parents. Her adopted name was Genevieve Crawford. The few things that my mother knew was that her bio parents were married by a Justice of Peace in 1915, her bio dad went to France shortly after the marriage, and was never heard from again. My mom’s bio grandfather, a strict Irish Catholic, did not recognize the marriage and my bio grandmother was forced to give my mother up for adoption. My mom was in an orphanage in Wisconsin when she was adopted when she was two years old by Joseph and Grace Crawford, who lived in Minneapolis. My mom found out when she was 17 years old that she was adopted. She believed her bio mom’s name was Margaret Bryant, but not sure. She never looked for her. My mom died in 1972.
