Frederick W Tolzman was the name given to him by his adopted parents. He was born 3 Jan. 1916 and died 17 Oct. 1974 possibly in Wisconsin. His adopted father was also Frederick W Tolzman (b. 18 Nov. 1869 in Germany) and his adopted mother was Mary Neumann (b. 17 Oct. 1879 in Milwaukee, WI). We know no other details, other than Fred was adopted, and do not even have a timeline of when this may have occurred or why. Among many other family members, we are attempting to put together a family tree for our son, and this would be his Great-Great Grandfather. There is no record of a Fred/Frederick Tolzman age 4 in the 1920s Census, so it’s assumed the adoption may have occurred when he was a bit older.
