In 1968 when I was 18 years old‚ I visited Lutheran Social Services (Red Feather Agency) in Madison Wisconsin for support in helping me through my pregnancy. I wasn’t married and my family was planning a big wedding for my older sister‚ who was also pregnant. It was so hard for them to accept the fact that my sister was pregnant‚ I didn’t have the courage to tell them that also was pregnant. I moved from my home and moved to Madison‚ Wisconsin. Not a day goes by that I don’t wish that I had been a stronger person‚ and we could have figured things out. I never did tell my parents. I believe that I gave a couple‚ that couldn’t have children of their own‚ a wonderful gift. A gift that I couldn’t go back and claim as mine. I have no rights here‚ but if there is a chance that my birth son would also like to connect‚ it would be wonderful. My other children know that he is out there and would also love to meet him.
