My father was born 5th June 1952 and my fathers biological brother (My Uncle) was born 23rd December 1953 in Milwaukee‚ Wisconsin‚ USA. Both boys were adopted by a married couple (my grandparents) in Racine‚ Wisconsin (Racine CO) in 1954. Both my father and my uncle were raised not to want to find out any information regarding their biological family parents/siblings/relatives. I carry by fathers adoptive parents surname and so do my brothers/nephews/nieces. I am trying to find out what my biological surname is and potentially connect with any living biological relatives. As I live in another country (Australia) it has been incredibly difficult to access any information as my father is living and he and I are estranged He will not support me to gain access to the information even though I have found the agency in Wisconsin who has the documentation that contains the information I am requesting. As he is the adoptee and I am the daughter of the adoptee I have been advised that I legally have no right to this information and I either have to convince my father to agree that I can access this information(which will never happen) or wait for his passing to then attempt to access it. Both of my fathers adoptive parents have passed away so I cannot ask them (during my childhood I was forbidden to ask them) Seeing as my father was adopted with his biological brother at the same time in 1954 (Aged 2 and 1) I am hoping that there are either living biological sibling/s that are searching for their brothers. I have been told various stories from my mother (my father’s ex wife) apparently my fathers half brother travelled to our country (Australia) when I was very young asking to meet my father but my father refused to meet him. This man also advised that there were several other half siblings. I have not been advised of names‚ surnames ages etc or had any of this information verified. I have submitted a DNA test on Ancestry.com and am awaiting the results to see if there are any biological matches. Any assistance or potential information would be greatly appreciated.
