Hello to my dear birth family‚ My name is Kim and I am hoping to connect with my birth family. Born on August 17th‚ 1957 early in the morning (about 5:00 am)‚ I believe that I was born in Beaver Dam‚ Wisconsin. Even though my birth certificate says Milwaukee‚ my adopting mom had told me that I was born in Beaver Dam. After that‚ I was placed for adoption through the Lutheran Children’s Friend Society on Harwood Avenue in Wauwatosa. I was adopted by a loving Christian family in West Allis‚ WI at five weeks of age. Growing up as the oldest‚ I have two brothers who were also adopted through the Lutheran Children’s Friend Society‚ two and four years younger than I. My adopting parents told me about my adoption since before I could even understand: “Once upon a time there was a mommy and daddy who could not have any children‚ but they wanted children‚ so….” I am reaching out to you because I would love to know more about you‚ my birth family‚ (heritage‚ medical family history‚ likes)‚ and to hopefully meet (and/or see pictures of) my biological parents (and relatives). I certainly do not want to upset your life and would understand if you are not able to have personal contact with me right now‚ but I hope you can and would be willing… I have not yet married (engaged twice)‚ but did give birth to a son on July 29th‚ 1985 who I placed for adoption. Doing so has given me an even greater appreciation‚ understanding‚ and love for you. Two days before Christmas 2018‚ my birth son contacted me through Facebook. I almost fell over so it was a good thing I was already sitting down at the time! His name is Chris‚ and he is 36 years old (2021 b-day). Since he reached out we have been writing to each other‚ developing a relationship slowly through social media (on Messenger) …kids these days…… We have also spent in-person time together several times since as we live in different states. We love each other and are building a wonderful‚ trusting‚ and loving relationship. I have thought of you often through the years and feel we likely have much in common. I hope you are doing well and are happy in your life. I also hope to hear from you (and would love to give you a big hug). With Love‚ Your birth daughter‚ Kim
