I’m only guessing that the adoption took place in West Virginia. It could have also been any of the surrounding states (Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Maryland, or Pennsylvania). I know that my brother is bi-racial (African-American and white) and, if he has accessed his birth records, his mother’s name is either JoAnne Berkley or Helen JoAnne Berkley. She told me that she called the baby Sean/Shawn, so I have no idea if that would be on his birth certificate. I hope you’re on here and that I can find you!
