My Nan was sent away at 14 to give up her daughter. I think she was sent to one of them houses that housed pregnant unmarried mothers. Her family was Irish catholic. My nan was born in 1948. She was 14/15 when she gave birth to a baby girl. To this day she is still with the father (her husband). They went on on have 3 more children in wedlock. My Nan is such a maternal woman. She would love to know what happened to her baby girl that she did not choose to give up.
