I was born on January 23, 1951, in Yakima, Washington at the welfare hospital. My mother’s name was Dorothy Maxine Schauer. My adoptive parents picked me up at the hospital when I was 3 days old. I was raised an only child. My twin sister was not adopted by my adoptive parents. When I met my birth mother 20 +/- years ago, the first thing she asked me was "Where is your twin sister?" I said I have no siblings. She said "they" promised to keep you together. She said the doctor (who I later learned was a dishonest person) gave me to my parents. They had known about Dorothy’s pregnancy about 3 months before I was born and they took me home. They did not know about my sister. The doctor told my birth mom we were going to the same home and he promised we wouldn’t be separated. He also told her wee were going to live in a wealthy home. It is my understanding babies were being sold on the black market, especially during that era. I have met three sisters and one brother. I have two sisters, a brother, my dad and my birth mom not too long after I met her.
