I was adopted through the Children’s Home Society of Washington. I have recently obtained my original birth certificate, when the laws changed allowing adoptees to do so. It only listed my birth mother’s name, Carol Ann Schermerhorn, and she had passed away before I found her. Unfortunately, her remaining family knew nothing of me or who she may have been with since she left family shortly after the time of my birth. There was no father listed on the birth certificate and so far my efforts to locate him through DNA have not produce any matches.
